Welcome to Cranhill Community Project Online

Cranhill goes Green

Cranhill Community Project launched its community garden on Wednesday 23rd June 2010. Cllr. Frank Docherty opened the Day with a thank you for all who took part in bringing together this great new project funded by Glasgow East Community Planning Partnership.

Helped by GCC Land and Environmental Services apprentices, Cranhill community garden volunteers planted a wide range of vegetables in raised beds in their wheelchair accessible garden behind Cranhill Community Project. It was a lovely sunny day with the garden full to capacity.

The community met with the gardening group and walked around the Garden with the young GCC apprentices who gave advice and answered any questions whilst Starbucks served complimentary fair trade coffee.

Cranhill Green Team also launched their new environmental project set up to help local people reduce their carbon emissions and save money on fuel bills. Funded through the Climate Challenge Fund this project will give residents energy saving advice and practical energy saving promotions. Drop-in to the project at 109 Bellrock Street for a free energy saving pack and advice on how you can help your planet and save money at the same time.

Many thanks goes to the children from the two local Schools, St Maria Goretti Primary and Cranhill primary who spent the morning with Glasgow Community Safety Services cleaning up the Cranhill area, picking up litter, returning to Cranhill Community Project in the afternoon to attend the launch event and join in the garden art activities.

Who We Are

Cranhill Community Project (CCP) is a partnership organisation based in the East End of Glasgow that encourages personal development, provides access to a range of resources and services for the local community and contributes significantly to the wider community through the arts and social events. CCP is about opportunities for community development and personal growth in one of the most marginalised communities in Scotland. At present, we are particularly renowned for and skilled in offering support and resources for the asylum seeker, refugee community and in developing support for the most vulnerable in Cranhill through integration, adult learning, advice and social activities. 35_family_art__crafts_09.jpg

The Project is based in Cranhill Parish Church and has evolved in response to the congregation's vision of their building being in use seven days a week to benefit the wider community.

As a focal point for the local community, our services are open to all, with around 400 people a week taking part in a wide variety of activities within CCP.  We believe that the activities undertaken by the project provide the people of Cranhill with local access to specialised advice and support.

As well as working in partnership with a whole range of voluntary and statutory organisations we have been actively consulting on the needs of the community in Cranhill.

Cranhill Community Project is a Charitable Company (Charity Number SCO33396, Company Limited by Guarantee No. SC235671).

Our aim is to be a holistic centre of excellence contributing to the regeneration of Cranhill as a vibrant community by offering opportunities for health, lifelong learning, personal development and social interaction”
